I got my PhD degree in computer science at Oregon State Univerysity in September 2006. I worked on program transformation on Haskell programs and a little bit on generic programming. I am also interested in other fields of computer science, such as AI, algorithms, and computing theory. Discrete math also intrigues me very much.

My alma mater is USTC , of which I am so proud of. I met some of the smartest and greatest people in the world there.

I play with computers a lot, I am a religious FreeBSD user, an enthusiastic Mac user, and an occasional Linux (mainly Debian and gentoo) user. However, to a lot of people's surprise, I joined Microsoft after graduation. I am currently working on Windows Workflow Foundation . It's a very cool product, check it out.

I live in Redmond, Washington. My physical location is N 47 39.596 W 122 05.452.

Things and thoughts happen everyday in my life. I document certain ones with either texts or colors.

• Texts. English is my second language, but since I am living in US currently and I am more or less used to thinking in English now, I will write in both English and Chinese. And when I write in Chinese, I will try to write Traditional Chinese (did I mention Simplified Chinese sucks?).
• Colors. I like photography. No, I didn't say I am good at it. Not matter how bad you are, as long as you are having fun, that's all it matters, isn't it?

• Outdoor sports. My wife and I enjoy good hikes and beautiful natural scenes.
• Swimming. This is probably the only sport I do not suck at :P
